The artisans of Mexico are world famous for their colorful and beautiful handiwork. Puerto Vallarta is fortunate to have so many varieties of Mexican handicrafts represented here.

The Cora and Huichol Indians produce many beautiful handicrafts from yarn and beads, which can be found all over town. Talavera pottery is one of the most sought after souvenirs to take home, and there are many shops that specialize in this colorful pottery.

The beautiful pottery from the village of Mata Ortiz is also available, as well as many other types of ceramic ware. All along the Malecon, the Isla Cuale, the flea market and through out town are shops and tiendas full of hand made items of every description and design from the ridiculous to the sublime.
