Triton and Nereidas

Triton and Nereidas - The bronze sculpture of mermaid lovers located near Los Arcos Amphitheater on the Malecon. The couple is cast forever reaching for each other that are said to symbolize the Jalisco coast. Triton is the son of Neptune. His mate Nereida is one of 50 Mediterranean sea-nymphs daughters of Doris and Nereo, who symbolize the play of the ocean waves. Triton was originally to hold a trident in his hand which disappeared, its whereabouts still a mystery
