Nayarit is the neighboring state to the north of Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco.It is home to the Huichol and Cora Indians who live in the remote villages of the Sierras. Nuevo Vallarta is located here as well as a chain of small beach-side towns famous for their long surf and laid back lifestyle. Nayarit is on a different time zone, which makes it one hour earlier than PV. Tepic, which is 104 miles northeast of Puerto Vallarta, is its capital city. |
