The Colunga Collection - This collection of sculptures was created by Alajandro Colunga and dedicated to the city on New Years Eve of 1998. They are called "Playa de Los Magos" or "Beach of the Magicians." There are 13 sculptures each portraying a whimsical and magical theme, meant to reflect the magic of the sea on which they reside over. During the evening hours minstrels can be found playing their instruments while sitting upon the laps of these characters to the delight of the crowds. It is also a favorite place for visitors to have their picture taken as well as a famous landmark and part of the wonderful body of public sculptures that Puerto Vallarta possesses.
