When you want to get away, what type of place do you visualize? Do you imagine somewhere you can unwind with a massage of oils and herbal scents? Take a horseback ride into the mountains? Swim in a pool of the deepest blue? Play a hard game of volleyball on the beach?

What if I told you all these things are possible? You wouldn’t be surprised; but if I told you they were all possible in the same place, you might be. Even better is that this place, Villa Vera Beach Club, is just 20 minutes from Puerto Vallarta.

Villa Vera is like a hotel without rooms. It offers a fabulous pool, a well-equipped gymnasium, family areas, a snack bar, an incredible beach, games, shops and rooms for classes to mix business with pleasure. In addition to a great children’s area with water spouts, water falls, water splashes, water everywhere, just right for any kid, there also is an adult pool with a swim-up bar for those in need of a quiet moment to disconnect totally.


Here, comfort and luxury surround you. The waiter brings the menu pool side. Marble bathrooms of the highest standards of cleanliness, rarely found seaside, await when you shower and change. In the showers shampoo and liquid soap are provided along with a dry changing area that locks. You’ll even find mirrors to check that “just-out-of-the-pool” hairstyle.

Let yourself be pampered. Open daily 10 am - 6 pm, the entrance fee is $160 pesos per adult and $120 pesos per child, ages 5-12, and includes a welcome cocktail and a generous towel for the pool.

Plus, every weekend Villa Vera welcomes Vallartenses in a special program with no entry fee. The only things that are extra are the massage appointments and horseback rides. Reservations are available by calling 221-1401. To get there, take the highway toward Punta de Mita, continuing beyond Destiladeras. On the left side is the sign for Villa Vera. A large gravel parking lot keeps your vehicle safe. Security at the entrance checks your reservation.
