Lifestyles Guide To Vallarta

Must-do
Market
“Where’s the flea market?” is probably the question
tourists ask most. So listen up: While several smaller ones pass themselves
off as the real deal, the main one is right on the Rio Cuale’s
north side, just west of the Insurgentes bridge. (If you’d asked
your hotel concierge for a free “Lifestyles Activity Guide,”
you’d already know!) And what a sensory treat it is, row upon
organized row of gaily colored, typical Mexican crafts and clothing,
family-run restaurants on the second floor serving delicious typical
food at realistic Mexican prices. This is your chance to inexpensively
expand your culinary horizons without worry. Although the bustling scene
may be quite different than you’re used to, I’ve never heard
of anyone getting sick eating here.
Live to Eat? You Are in Paradise!
We’ve got the best restaurants in Mexico with the exception of
the world’s largest city. And do we have choices, with more than
a thousand places to eat out, ranging from family-run spots with tasty,
traditional set menus for under $3 USD to gorgeous, international award-winning
venues where the sky’s the limit and well worth it.
Hankering for sushi or samosas? No problem. Expect the tinkling of the
ivories with your surf and turf? You got it. And if it’s exquisitely
prepared fresh seafood you crave, where better to enjoy it than overlooking
one of the world’s most beautiful bays. So many choices and so
little time. Do yourself a favor and consult the dining guides in this
magazine.
We've
Got Character
A Cosmopolitan One!
One thing everyone agrees on is that there’s nothing cookie-cutter
about Vallarta. Unlike contrived cities like Cancun, PV means different
things to different people. More than a place, it’s a spirit,
a way of living, attracting people from all walks of life and from all
around the globe. Successful businesses are run by ex-pats not only
from the USA and Canada, but also from Holland, France, Italy, Spain,
Sri Lanka and more. Just ride a bus and you’ll hear myriad languages.
We’ve got jetsetters, Joe Six Packs, students, professionals,
retirees, creative types and those pursuing alternate lifestyles. Yet
we all have one thing in common: We’re captivated by Vallarta’s
magic.
