Kids
love Puerto Vallarta because there is so much for them to do here, and
parents know that they will be safe and well entertained. So, kids, this
is your page at VirtualVallarta.com, a place to find out all the neat
stuff to see and do in Puerto Vallarta.
There are lots of tours for kids. Take any number of cruises to see humpback whales wintering in the warm waters of the Bay of Banderas. Or how about a glass-bottomed boat to watch tropical fish swim by? You can even swim with the dolphins in the wild or in captivity. If you have never snorkeled before, there are many tours that will take you and your parents to tropical beaches and teach you how. There is even a National Marine Park offshore that has coves and underwater caves to explore if you snorkel or scuba dive. Explore the Marietta Islands where hundreds of species of wildlife live. Click here for a related Vallarta Lifestyles article. Head out to Yelapa
for the day. It is the largest of the tiny beach communities that you
can reach only by boat. Here you can hike or take a horseback ride up
into the jungle to see a waterfall, or just play on the beach all day;
there are lots of beach activities here and several palapa-style restaurants.
This town has no electricity; generators run everything cool huh?
Visit the movie set where Arnold Swarzenegger filmed "The Predator" and see the helicopter that crashed in the movie still stuck in the trees. Go to a real Mexican ranch and ride horses or go on a horseback tour though the jungle or on the beach. All the beaches here have activities like volleyball and boogie board or surfboard rentals. You even can ride a big yellow banana. There even is a private beach club that has its own kids' area with a picnic area, and swimming and wading pools that have slides. There are also wildlife shows, and restaurants right on the Pacific Ocean. In the Marina Vallarta area there is a water park where you can spend all day having fun sliding down water slides into pools or go to Collage where you can find tons of video games, bowling, pool tables and other fun stuff. Do ya like to fish? Take mom and dad out for the day on a fishing adventure. There are lots of tours to choose from and you can go for whole days or half days. See if you can catch a bigger sailfish or marlin than your parents do. While you're out in the boat, you will get the chance to see manta rays, dolphins, whales and other wildlife that live here. Mountain biking sound better? You can rent them by the hour or day. There are even organized tours you and your family can take. How about an ATV ride in the jungle on a riverbed? Talk mom and dad into one of the Sierra Madre tours and take off into the mountains. Wanna do the driving? You can at the fastest go-kart track in all of Mexico, right here in Puerto Vallarta. If you like exploring, you can always take the Walking Tour of Puerto Vallarta and cruise the Malecon, visit the Municipal Market and buy T-shirts, big sombreros, and other Mexican handicrafts to take to gramma and grampa back home. While you are wandering around, stop and see a Huichol Indian make the beautiful yarn and bead artwork they use in their ceremonies high in the mountains that surround the bay, just as they have done for hundreds of years. There are two movie theaters in town that show the latest movies from the U.S.A. with Spanish sub-titles. They are a lot cheaper than back home and a good way to learn a little Spanish, too. Hungry? Don't worry about a Big Mac attack, we have McDonalds, Burger King, Pizza Hut and Dominoes if you get hungry for American fast food. You can even go to a Planet Hollywood or Hard Rock Cafe for lunch and souvenirs. If you don't want to miss that sports event on TV, there are plenty of sports restaurants to catch the big game. Tell mom and dad all the major hotels have activity directors who have scheduled games and activities to do during the day. Most have a kids' area and there are always babysitters available. So grab your backpack and get ready for fun in the sun Puerto Vallarta style! |
