Marietas Islands -Whale Watching and Snorkeling For ages, the Marieta Islands have provided a sanctuary from the ocean's swell. Dolphins, sea turtles and the ever-friendly giant mantas flourish in the shallows and the unique, complex marine ecosystem that has evolved in the shelter of these islands. Our tour to the Marietas includes a visit to a beautiful, secluded beach where guests are taken ashore to explore this white sand hideaway. Accompanied by knowledgeable and bilingual eco-guides, you explore the archways and deep caverns that form the rocky, coastal architecture of the Marietas. Guests may also choose kayaking or snorkeling (all equipment provided) or the scuba option in the crystal clear waters surrounding the islands. However, you are not required to do anything; you can just sit back, relax and sip on a cool refreshing drink, courtesy of our open bar. Tour Info Daily departures at 9 a.m. from Puerto Vallarta Marina Terminal 8:30 a.m. pick-up from Nuevo Vallarta Lunch and open bar included Returns at 4:30 p.m. NTSC or PAL format videos are available Bathing suit, shorts, sun hat, sunscreen and light jacket recommended Price: $60 U.S.D. per person Children under 12 half price Whale Watching - Photo Safari Excursion Participants in this photo safari excursion are taken out in a 27-foot panga boat, guided by experienced professional leaders who are experts in marine mammal behavior. They are exceptionally talented and passionate about wildlife and the environment. Their special insights will give you a deeper understanding and appreciation of the wildlife that you can find and the places you visit. To understand the movements of the whales, our guides are able to share their knowledge with you, to help refine the quality of your photos. You'll finish this day with images that reflect the grace and strength of these magnificent marine mammals in their natural habitat and that emphasize the wonder of this travel adventure. There is no such thing as "a typical day" when whale watching, it is the "wild ones" (the whales and dolphins) who are in charge of the daily itinerary. You can't always predict where they are, so its best to let them guide us along their preferred route of the day. The whole adventure is to find the wildlife and enjoy those precious moments when you can sit peacefully and watch the whales and dolphins play, breach, eat or just hang out. We get as close as possible, but never so close as to disturb the mammals or place them (or ourselves) in any danger.
