Majahuitas Dive El Morro Dive Los Arcos Dive Islas Marietas Dive El Chimo Dive
Majahuitas Dive A full day's outing to Majahuita appeals to everyone and it's little wonder when you consider all we have to offer. The first stop is the beautiful beach of Majahuita. Divers remain aboard and prepare for their dive; while the snorkelers, their instructors and observer, make for the shore. The waters are safe and clear and famous for the green and golden spotted eels that anchor themselves in the sand here, and the torpedo fish that swim amongst the huge, submerged boulders. Next its too the little village of Quimixto. Here, those not opting for a second dive or snorkeling, go ashore to scout the lush green forest that skirts the beach; take a guided tour (on horsback, if you wish) to see a wonderful jungle waterfall and witness spectacular panoramic views of the bay. Or, just stretch-out, relax and soak up the sun on a truly gorgeous beach. Meanwhile, the rest sail on for a second optional, one tank dive or snorkeling, in the beautiful coves of Las Casitas and Caletilla - where John Huston once lived. Later, everyone returns to Quimixto for lunch. When lunch is over, everyone boards once more aboard once more, and enjoys an open bar on the way back to Puerto Vallarta Tour Info Departures Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm Includes: 2 tanks, grilled fish or quesadillas in Majahuitas. Cost per person $950.00 pesos El Morro Dive El Morro is 26 miles out from Puerto Vallarta in the Pacific Ocean. It lies beyond the protected waters of the Bay of Banderas and this dive site is reserved for experienced, certified divers only - no snorkelers. Because El Morro is located where it is, it has more to offer; more Whales, Whale Sharks, Mantas, Dolphins; and, a wealth of Rays, Jacks, Yellowtails and Sailfish. El Morro is known for its series of pinnacles that rise from the floor of the ocean, riddled with dozens of caves and tunnels waiting to be explored in a lush undersea world that teems with life. They take a maximum of four divers on this all-day excursion, providing a lunch and two tank dives in the most secluded, and possibly, the best dive site in the area. Tour Info Departures Saturdays and Sundays from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm Includes: 2 tanks, snaks and softdrinks. Cost per person $950.00 pesos Los Arcos Dive Los Arcos is an excellent and very safe dive site for inexperienced scuba divers and snorkelers alike. One of Mexico National Parks, Los Arcos provides sanctuary to many: Its craggy peaks and arches are home to Pelicans and Swallows; in its hidden tidal caves, the Turtles slumber till it's dark; and deeper, in its cracks and crevices, the Morays lurk in ambush, awaiting passing fish. And far, far below, in the still darkness, a once huge (and all too famous) forest of Black Coral silently and secretly rebuilds itself. It is at Los Arcos that the deep Pacific currents, rich in Plankton, encounter the Devil's Jaw. This 800 ft., underwater cliff forces the plankton up near the surface, thus attracting enormous numbers of fish to feast on the abundance. Everyone, even experienced divers, are impressed by the variety of sea life that Los Arcos has to offer. Tour Info Departures everyday from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm and 2:pm to 6pm Includes: 2 tanks, snaks and softdrinks Cost per person $760.00 pesos Islas Marietas Dive Starting from the West about 23 miles out, the ocean floor begins to rise gradually before it abruptly drops away again creating an undersea mountain ridge. Where the tallest peaks reach high enough to break through the surface of the sea, they are known as the Islas Marietas. This is an excellent dive site - Jacques Cousteau has documented the Islas Marietas - a protected bird sanctuary whose surrounding waters offer an exciting variety of marine life including; Whales, Dolphins, Mantas, and always, thousands upon thousands of smaller, spectacularly colored species. This is an all-day excursion, with lunch provided, for parties of up to 15 cerified divers and experienced snorkelers. Tour Info For Marietas Day dive reservations are required Marietas night dive departures are Wednesday and Saturday from 7:30pm to 9:30pm Includes: 2 tanks, snaks and softdrinks Cost per person $950.00 pesos. Marietas Dive at Night $730.00 pesos Chimo Dive The Chimo dive site lies about 26 miles along the southern coast of the Bay of Banderas. It is reserved for certified divers only and is not available to snorkelers. The area is teeming with fish - especially Damsels. However, Chimo has something very special to offer, besides marine life. Here the ocean floor has formed itself into to distinct and interesting formations: Torrecillas is an undersea plateau about a quarter-mile in diameter. From this mesa-like base, a series of seperate pinnacles rise like trees striving upward to gain the light. Las Iglesias (the churches), is a line of columns that rises straight from the bed of the ocean, like the supports of some ancient sunken cathedral. This is an all-day excursion, with lunch, to a secluded location for small parties of divers. They supply all you need for two tank dives; however, you will never be able to see and experience fully all of Chimo's unique and spectacular undersea architecture in just one day. Tour Info Departures Saturday and Sunday from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm Includes: 2 tanks, snaks and softdrinks Cost per person $950.00 pesos
