Best Multimedia Exhibition: Drop Dead Gorgeous
Unabashedly celebrating surreptitious binges with a touch of humor and a sense of fashion, Daniela Edburg’s unconventional Drop Dead Gorgeous photographic series on display at T-Fuller Fine Art this past fall gave us all something to talk — and perhaps feel a tad guilty — about. With titles such as “Death by Oreos,” “Death by Slim Fast” and “Death by Cake,” few of us could resist taking a peek.
A multimedia version of one of the pieces, “Death by Gummy Bears,” involved a digital video projector hanging from the ceiling pointing straight down at a picnic scene featuring a patch of grass, tablecloth and even a dirt mound, out of which projected gummy bears moved about, pilfering fruit and other items after having finished off their unsuspecting victim. This piece is long gone. However, some of the large-format photographs are still on display at the gallery for your enjoyment.
