November 08, 2002: The true test of how well we’ve got it together is adversity, not theory. The column I wrote for VirtualVallarta.com the day before Hurricane Kenna gave Vallarta her glancing blow was not only naïve, but glib.
October 25, 2002 – It’s out the door!: It’s out the door and soon to be on the streets! The revamped – and we believe much improved – “Vallarta Voice” has begun its third season. A continual work in progress, we’re really looking forward to your feedback about the changes.
October 11, 2002 – Hasn’t he had enough already?: Some people just take a lickin’ and keep on tickin’. Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani – at the helm of the city during the immediate aftermath of 9/11 – has assumed the difficult job of ridding the world’s most-populated city of crime, says “The Dallas Morning News Express.”
October 5, 2002: We’ve entered the home stretch to the upcoming high season. And those of us who have made it through September feel somewhat victorious, perhaps even elitist in a bizarre fashion, as if part of an exclusive group with proven stamina.
August 30, 2002 – Well, they do say turn about’s fair play…: Until I began writing this column recently, I’ve exposed the thoughts and actions of countless others during 25 years as a journalist, but never my own. And that’s been just fine by me, letting me feel safe because I’m not putting myself on the line like the people I’m interviewing.
August 23, 2002: Airport customs is now corruption-free, its head official has announced. Among measures taken to ensure this are firings, hirings and boxes installed throughout the Puerto Vallarta facility to report irregularities.
August 16, 2002: A delightful evening at an intimate French gourmet restaurant and cooking school in Bucerias pointed out to me yet again how exceptional Banderas Bay is in the culinary department.
August 9, 2002: It seems to me we have a long way to go in Puerto Vallarta to achieve so-called objectivity in reporting news. When I struggle with my bad Spanish to read the local press, what I do understand is way too much opinion and innuendo mixed in with ‘facts’.
July 26, 2002 – Just how great can you stand your life to be?: If your pleasure threshold is low, Vallarta’s probably not for you. With the world’s friendliest people and a plethora of activities to pursue amid nature’s most generous display, it’s next to impossible not to enjoy life to the fullest here.
