 The CasaMagna Marriott Resort Puerto Vallarta and Kelly Trainor the American Consular Agent, are teaming up to host the 5th International Festival of Altruism on Sunday May 25, 2008. The festival will feature a wide range of activities including a food demonstration from more than 40 of Puerto Vallarta's finest restaurants, live music, dance, and cultural presentations. The International Festival of Altruism will take place at 6:00 p.m. with a pre-sale admission price of $300 pesos or $400 pesos at the door.
In 2007, $603,000 pesos was raised at this event, meaning that each of the 20 participating charities, received over $30,000 pesos! This year there will be four additional groups represented and all proceeds raised from the festival will be evenly distributed among the 24 benefiting charities which include: Arturo y los Hijos de Dios, Shelter for the Elderly CAIA, Shelter for the Elderly Asilo San Juan Diego, Becas Vallarta A.C., Los Mangos Library, Rey Nayar Library, Máximo Cornejo Orphanage, Rehabilitation Clinic Vallarta Sta. Bárbara, International Friendship Club La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, DIVAC, Salvation Army, Pumas Children Soccer School, Air Fresh Foundation, Down Foundation, Ecological Group of Puerto Vallarta, Manos de Amor por Bahía, New Life Mexico, Pasitos de Luz, P.E.A.C.E., Pitillas Busca Un Amigo, Refugio Infantil Sta. Esperanza (R.I.S.E.), Occident Ecological Society,Torpedos A.C. and Toys for Tots Vallarta. Each charity will also be given the opportunity to host a display at the festival to highlight the great impact they are having on Puerto Vallarta community.
