 Make-A-Wish Foundation Mexico recently announced that the company Alegre Events-Roberta Valdez will benefit the institution by given a percentage of earnings of their upcoming trips to Mascota, Talpa and Tonala. Make-A-Wish Foundation Mexico is a non-profit foundation that is part of an international organization operating in more than 30 countries in the world. They grant wishes for Mexican Children in all the country, enriching the human experiences on all levels. To reach their goals, Make-A-Wish Foundation work with companies and people that believe that wishes can come true.
Mascota and Talpa Day Trips on January 25, February 29, March 15, April 19, and May 12, 2008. $650 pesos per person.
Mascota is a traditional "old Mexico" town with colonial haciendas, cobbled streets and a central plaza, where you’ll find the majestic town church dedicated to the Virgin de los Dolores (Virgin of Sorrows), completed in 1880 and took over a 100 years to construct. Mascota is also known for their fabulous cheese and honey. Trips to Macota and Talpa will depart from Mega super market at 7:00am, arriving in Mascota approximately 9:00am for a Breakfast Buffet, followed by a short walking tour.
While departing to Talpa is about 11-11:30am arriving approximately 12-12:30pm where we´ll visit the church to see the Virgin "Rosario of Talpa", a small statue that is said to have healing powers. On the 3 yearly prilgrimages made there, the town´s population triples. The tour will also visit the Museum of the "Rosario of Talpa", see how the famous candy Guava Roll is made, plus craft articles made out of chewing gum. This is not sweet gum, it is derived from the Chitle (now you know where the word "Chiclets come from) tree which grows locally. You could walk the plaza, do some shopping, have a late lunch or early dinner (not included in the trip price). The depart back to Puerto Vallarta will be at 4:30-5:00pm arriving Vallarta approximately 7:30-8:00pm
Tonala Shopping Trips on January 30, February 16, March 12, and April 9, 2008. $1650 pesos in double occupancy and $1950 pesos in single occupancy.
