 Ideal for when you want to get away from the maddening crowd and see more crocodiles, sea turtles and exotic birds than sun worshippers. The Tomates estuary is one of this area's most important refuges for wildlife, this long wide sandy beach in front of the airport an ecologist's paradise. Lots of funky palapa restaurants. Popular with boogie boarders.
