Uniting their efforts on behalf of Vallarta-area children with cancer and other local charitable programs, the gringo International Friendship Club and the Mexican Asociacion Feminil Vallartense are hosting Fiesta Charra the afternoon of March 5. Featuring colorful regional costumes, music, food and drink, along with pinatas and demonstrations of age-old roping and riding skills, this family event is a great way to get an overview of Mexican culture's most beloved traditions - by the way, a charra is a Mexican cowgirl in the colorful dignified outfit worn for centuries.
