Tropical First Aid the Topic of Upcoming Orchid Society Meeting

The Vallarta Orchid Society's first meeting of the season at the Vallarta Botanical Gardens, Sunday, October 29 at 1 pm, features guest speaker Dr. Luis Suarez Lopez. A specialist in internal medicine, he has studied a very specific field called “Travelers Medicine." Dealing with things that people here in the tropics should be aware of — from snakes, spiders and scorpions, to bacterias, microbes and molds — he'll talk about first aid treatments and what your doctor needs to know.

Everyone is welcome to attend and there is no charge for Dr. Suarez’s talk. The gardens do have a small entry fee, but it's deducted from the cost of lunch or drinks and the food is excellent here. This talk is part of a series of discussions designed to educate and enlighten without getting into too much technical and scientific detail. And the Vallarta Botanical Gardens is a delightful place to spend a few hours, offering paths through garden areas, a swimming hole, great bird watching, tours, talks, and more.

Located 24 Km south of town, the bus to El Tuito stops at its entrance, upon request. Parking is available. For more information contact pvorchids@gmail.com, pvbotanicalgardens@hotmail.com, or 044-322-105-7217 or visit www.vallartabotanicalgardensac.org
