Toys for Tots and Marriot Opened a New Playground
Toys for Tots Vallarta and CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort partnered with the governmental agency Desarrollo Integral de la Familia (DIF) to built a new playground for children at La Aurora, one of Puerto Vallarta's neighborhoods. The open space, inaugurated by Mayor Javier Bravo last April 30, has swings, a playhouse and a sand platform, with a fundraised cost of over $60 thousand pesos. These institutions also launched a campaign to plant 90 trees in different areas of the city, hoping that children will adopt and care for a tree, an excellent idea to promote ecological responsibilities among Puerto Vallarta's youth. DIF President Aleyda Bravo led the inauguration ceremony, Toys for Tots President Jeff Miltenberger and Marriot Public Relations' Lita Aguirre were also present at the ceremony. Toys for Tots Vallarta is part of Toys for Tots, organized by the US Marine Corp since 1947. Here in Puerto Vallarta their generous participation would not be possible without the sponsorship of the Navy League, Vista Vallarta Golf Course, CasaMagna Marriott, Coldwell Banker, Continental Airlines, the International Friendship Club, and the US Marine Corp.
