The University of Guadalajara’s campus in Puerto Vallarta, Centro Universitario de la Costa, is set to receive The Night of the AdEaters next December 7-8 at 8 PM. This is a unique showcase dedicated to screening commercials from 60 different nationalities and celebrating their creativity. Since its inception in 1981 by Jean Marie Boursicot, more than 160 cities throughout the world have hosted the travelling tour annually, from Tokyo to Paris, Moscow, Santiago de Chile, Mexico City, Hong Kong or Geneva.
The event will take place in Puerto Vallarta for the first time.
Jean Marie Boursicot decide to become the Ali-Baba of advertising when he was the operator of Paris' Cine Madeline. The embryo of a collection was born. By accumulating his treasures he mixed his passion for posters and advertising, and, at the same time, turned his passion into a business. After his study years, he discovered that nobody keeps advertising films, thus beginning his cinematheque that today contains over 700 thousand films and grows each year by 25 thousand extra items.
In 1981 Jean Marie created the first event night called Friandises to share his passion and to raise funds for the preservation and restoration of old films. The Night of AdEaters in Paris became an institution, gathering 70 thousand people in 1984 and beginning it establishment in Europe. The 12th edition in 1993 was enjoyed by 12 thousand faithful in two Paris nights before leaving for Poland, Greece, Canada, Australia. Now, in Puerto Vallarta, it is the perfect opportunity to open a window on the world to experience six hours of Russian, Asian, African, and South American advertisers. It is also a chance to discover spots from lands as diverse as Magnolia, Iraq and even the Guarani region of India!
