The Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita — the flagship resort of the innovative 1,500-acre, master-planned community an hour north of Puerto Vallarta — has taken top honors in three categories of Conde Nast Traveler's 11th annual Reader's Choice survey on the world's finest golf resorts. In this year's evaluation, the Four Seasons Punta Mita is named the number one golf resort in the world, as well as the top property for both accommodations and service. Course design accounted for 20% of the overall score, speed of play 10%, and accommodations, service, dining and facilities 17.5% each. The resort's overall score was 96.7, with both accommodations and service scoring a perfect 100. The private Jack Nicklaus Signature Course is an astonishingly beautiful 19-hole championship course featuring eight holes facing or playing along the ocean. It's famed 19th hole, an optional par-3 called the Tail of the Whale, plays 199 yards from a mainland tee box to a green that is literally a small natural island. A second Jack Nicklaus Signature Course will soon follow, now under construction.
