Successful Cleaning on the Pitillal River
250 young students and 50 adult volunteers met last June 29th at Plaza Peninsula to participate in a major cleaning of Puerto Vallarta’s Pitillal River, an effort commanded by a civil association called Limpieza de la Bahía y Playas de Puerto Vallarta. At twelve O’clock several participants’ brigades of this campaign called Clean Vallarta Limpio 2007 placed the collected trash bags in the containers provided by City Hall Public Services and the Confederation of Mexican Workers (CTM).
The next step of Clean Vallarta Limpio 2007 is much more ambitious: clean the entire Banderas Bay, from Yelapa to San Pancho. This important event is scheduled to take place next November 9th. Teams of students and volunteers will have a strategic plan supported by public and private institutions for its successful execution. A participation of ten thousand high school students responsible for collecting 100 tons of trash is expected.
Clean Vallarta Limpio 2007 is a progressive project that fosters the clean culture awareness among children, allowing them to improve the behavior of their parents and families at home, as well as to educate their vision of environmental care.
