St. Petersburg Ballet Visits Puerto Vallarta

Puerto Vallarta's Culture Department has announced the first presentation of St. Petersburg Grand Ballet Company in Puerto Vallarta, to take place March 9 at the Centro Universitario de la Costa's auditorium. The unprecedented performance will feature a program in three acts featuring 40 dancers on stage that will delight the audience for over two hours. Coordinator Ekaterina Estolyanova and Culture Department Director David Izazaga were present at the press conference to offer details about the gala night., promising a first-rate performance for people who are used to presentations taking place in larger cities. Authorities chose the CUC's auditorium because there is no other place in Puerto Vallarta appropriate for an event of this type. The St. Petersburg Grand Ballet Company was founded as the first Ballet Theater in Russia under the management of the People's Artist of Russia, Professor Peter Gusev, in 1966. Peter Gusev, the notable artist and ballet master, graduated from the Petrograd Choreographic Academy in 1922 and was a featured artist of Leningrad Opera and Ballet Theatre until 1935.
