Restaurant Week Reaches New Goals
In a press conference for local media, Vallarta Lifestyles Publishing Group offered details regarding Vallarta Lifestyles' Restaurant Week's third annual edition, an event that has quickly become one of the city's important culinary festivities. 30 restaurants participated the first edition, 34 in the second, and 37 are involved this time. Restaurant Week is the perfect opportunity for tourists and local residents to sample Puerto Vallarta's finest cuisine at superb prices during 17 consecutive days. Each participating restaurant offers a three-course menu with three options to select from each course, appetizer, main course, and dessert. Additionally, local hotels such as Casa Las Brisas, Hacienda San Angel, Presidente Intercontinental and Villa Premiere offer special rates for people who want to visit the city during those days.
Vallarta Lifestyles magazine and Puerto Vallarta’s Tourism Office promote this culinary event throughout their PR firms in Mexico, United States and Canada. “Restaurant Week is part of Puerto Vallarta's tourism life and its promotion targets major American cities, such as Los Angeles and San Francisco, among others. Locally, Grupo Acir radio station along with print publications such as Vallarta Opina and Bay Vallarta partner with us providing local promotion,” emphasized Vallarta Lifestyles Publishing Group Event Coordinator Elsa Guadarrama.
Coming Soon: Twice a Year!
Restaurant Week organizers are presently considering the addition of a second annual event to take place later on this year, and several tentative dates that would not coincide with Festival Gourmet International, Puerto Vallarta's Grand-Dame culinary even. Until now, Restaurant Week has taken place during the last two weeks of May, a period traditionally known for its decline in local restaurant industry. Regarding the effect that Restaurant Week has had in restaurant sales, Elsa Guadarrama commented that "some restaurants reported a 100% increase in new customers last year during Restaurant Week, an attractive 25% increase over the expected 75% average.
