In a couple of weeks, those attending South America's most important folkloric festival in Cosquin, Argentina, will be treated to performances by 20 members of Puerto Vallarta's official dance troupe, Xiutla, that we residents and tourists here get to enjoy at regularly scheduled free cultural events like the one above. Directed by professor Enrique Barrios, its youthful members perform Mexico's most beloved dances from various states of the republic with great vitality in vividly colorful traditional costumes, this South America trip January 25 - February 6 coming to pass because the dancers were so well received in Paris, France, last October. In just the past year alone, this energetic has performed 110 times locally, nationally and internationally.
