Oaxaca Comes to Puerto Vallarta
Thanks to Puerto Vallarta’s Department of Culture, we can all enjoy the rich traditions of the state of Oaxaca in our own backyard. Beginning November 15 and continuing through December 3, Artesanos Oaxaqueños en Movimiento, a group of over 30 traveling artisans from the aforementioned state, will set shop at Plaza Lazaro Cardenas, offering fine arts and crafts and traditional food. Among other things, this southern state is known by its unique barro negro, or black clay and its alebrijes, popular wooden figures of various creatures painted with vibrant colors. While you find yourself in this popular part of town, you may also consider a stroll through the new Malecón extension.
