Mexican Riviera Increasingly Popular Cruise Destination
The Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) says the Mexican Riviera has grown into one of the top five cruise destinations in the last five years, and for many good reasons. "It's no wonder that Mexican Riviera cruises continue to grow in popularity," says Terry L. Dale, president and CEO of CLIA, the chief marketing organization for 20 premier cruise lines and nearly 17,000 North American travel agencies. "These cruises have it all — charming villages, bustling cities, fabulous food and culture and miles and miles of flawless beaches." Typically, CLIA-member ships call at the Mexican ports of Puerto Vallarta, Acapulco, Cabo San Lucas, Ixtapa/Zihautanjeo, Manzanillo and Mazatlan on cruises lasting from seven to 11 days.
