 The 8th Edition Annual Auction of Los Mangos Public Library was a success in many ways. This year the community participation increased along with the companies, hotels, restaurants, beauty salons, gyms, advertisements agencies, plastic artists, galleries, and media members support. The art piece best sold was Lena Bartula’s “Te Amo” painting from Galeria Sol y Luna follow by Steven King’s “Vista al Rio Cuale” painting from Galeria Vallarta.
Total sale amount ascend to $130,000 pesos minus organization expenses the library is receiving $86,640 pesos of proceeds. Los Mangos Director Ricardo Murrieta will seek the support of a benefit program called Programa Vive to duplicate the budget and accomplish more goals.
New Books and Seminars
After five years, Los Mangos finally received a new donation of books given by the Federal Government. Almost 400 new titles, most of them about science, are now part of its catalog. Seminars about Jazz, Local Contemporary Culture and Special Physical Conditioning for Seniors were also announced by Ricardo Murrieta, Pro Library Comite Maria José Zorrilla and teacher Maria Magdalena O’Connor Jiménez.
