Los Mangos Library Turns Ten

Los Mangos library celebrated 10-year anniversary with a performance by Biblos Danza this past November 17. The event took place at the Cecatur auditorium and includedaudience participation, young and grown getting involved. Gabriela Raigosa and Melissa Castillo directed the show and led their students, who demonstrated their dancing abilities. The repertoire chosen for the performance included ballet, contemporary dance, flamenco and German dance. Folkloric Ballet "Amoxcalli" provided a more Mexican touch dancing songs from Veracruz such as La Bruja, El Colas and La Bamba. A subsequent gala function was offered on the following day featuring butoh dancer Sandra Soto, flamenco dancer Susi Bernal and Paloma Martinez, whose humorous choreography entitled "Visitantes" has been presented in diverse forums throughout Spain and Mexico. Special student awards were also presented during the celebration by Los Mangos director Ricardo Murrieta.
