The Kiteboard Pro World Tour (KPWT), an international circuit grouping some of the world's best kiteboarders recently announced that Puerto Vallarta will host, for the first time, the Mexico Kiteboard World Cup, an event co-organized with partner Americas Sports Marketing (ASM). The event will take place May 13-20, 2007.

The Mexico Kiteboard World Cup will be a new opportunity for the best pro international kiteboarders to gain points for the 2007 World Cup title with a prize money of $40,000 USD, and show their wide range of skills and talents during the various competitions mixing freestyle, wave riding and speed crossing. The event will grant points to participants for the KPWT ranking, which will contribute to determine the official 2007 Kiteboard World Champions.
