 The new Wine Fest Vallarta Jalisco + Nayarit edition is set to take place next February 27th - March 1st having Italy as special guest along with Mexico's most prestigious wines. Thanks to the collaboration of Italy’s Ministry of Foreign Affair in Mexico, renowned personalities of the wine industry will participate, offering outstanding seminars. According to founding members, this fairly new event has the goal of increasing wine's popularity among local people. “Not only the elite drinks wine, which is healthier than other alcoholic beverages, everybody can afford a glass of wine,” says restauranteur Nacho Cadena. The organizing committee is preparing a big opening event, a casual party at Lazaro Cardenas Park with live music and affordable wines by the glass.
Additionally, participating restaurants will offer special menus that will include special wine pairings. “The wine fest is not a advertisement to sell wine, it is a fest to promote wine culture along with fine cuisine, and to promote Puerto Vallarta,” assured Cadena. Peripheral events will include over forty artists from Leon, Guanajuato, a poetry contest, a photography contest, jazz and classical music recitals, workshops, and a very special exhibition of paintings made with wine extracts.
