The U.S. Consular Agency Vallarta, in conjunction with Community Service projects in Nayarit, is sponsoring a monthly Nayarit Breakfast Network. Open to English speaking men and women, the objective is to highlight various community service projects throughout Nayarit and promote networking between residents, frequent visitors, and local businesses. It will provide the opportunity to enrich our lives by making new friends, learning about the various projects in our communities, and meeting people from different walks of life. Each month the Nayarit Breakfast Network will be held at a different venue in Nayarit. Current plans are for Nuevo Vallarta, Bucerias, La Cruz, Punta de Mita and Sayulita. A service project will be highlighted and a “Bring-A-Thing” project each month will be the opportunity for participants to bring needed supplies for that month’s highlighted organization. Please join us as we kick off this effort, and help make it a success. We look forward to meeting you!

The first breakfast will be on Friday, February 22, 2008 and will be held at the Vallarta Yacht Club in Nuevo Vallarta (next to Paradise Village Resort). The breakfast costs $80 pesos including tip and is hosted by the Vallarta Yacht Club. Proceeds from this breakfast are going to the VYC Jr. Sailing Scholarship Program and Manos de Amor Children’s Shelter. Manos of Amor is in need of the following donations which you can bring to the breakfast: rice, beans, pastas, oil, canned vegetables, cookies, crackers, peanut butter, jam, toilet paper, soap, children’s shampoo and toothpaste etc. Reservations required - deadline Feb. 20.
