At the International Tourism Trade FITUR 2008 recently held in Spain, FIFA organizers and Puerto Vallarta’s Tourism Office, met to complete negotiations regarding the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2008 Qualifier. This important event will held in Puerto Vallarta, from April 16-20, 2008. At the championship, two teams from each of North America and Central America will compete to qualify. Mexico, the host team, is among the favorites to win this prestigious cup. Event organizers will disclose the name of the participating teams next week and among them are: United States, Costa Rica, Canada, El Salvador, Jamaica, and Bahamas. This competition is not to be missed and is sure to be full of surprises and adrenaline for athletes and spectators alike. FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup is the most important competition in beach soccer. It was first played in 2005, after FIFA recognized beach soccer as an official FIFA sport.
