Regatas y Deportes Marítimos - Bahía de Banderas and The Vallarta Yatch Club is holding their sixteenth annual regatta from March 1 - 8, 2008. The Vallarta Yacht Club located in Nuevo Vallarta, is Race Headquarters for all On and Off-Shore events. There will be lots of fun, food, and entertainment for everyone whether you are racing or not.

This year’s Banderas Bay Regatta consists of a one-week series of exciting events to challenge a wide range of high performance boats as well as our traditional cruising fleet. We are proud to have the Mexican Offshore Racing Circuit fleet (MEXORC) take part in Festival Náutico - Vallarta Race Week. MEXORC welcomes all eligible skippers and crew to participate in its racing events.

A boat parade was held early on March 2. Beautifully decorated boats paraded from the Marina in Nuevo Vallarta to Buscerias. The hands down winner of the 2008 parade was a 46 foot sloop named Chére, which was decorated in Mardi Gras colors and sported a “human” mermaid high atop the mast.
