Marriott Launches Training Program
CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & SPA committed to provide opportunities for the next generation is launching a six-month hospitality-training program for young people from challenging backgrounds. Rosa, Juan, Miriam, Tania, Francisco, and Ernesto, the six trainees involved in the program at CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & SPA, were officially introduced to the Marriott Managers at a welcoming cocktail last week. The program is done in collaboration with the International Tourism Partnership’s Youth Career Initiative, an association that creates the opportunities for disadvantaged young people to gain employability skills to which they have limited access elsewhere.
The program combines classroom training with on-the-job hotel experience, allowing the trainees to obtain the necessary skills and knowledge. Already 1,600 young people are on their way towards promising careers in Australia, Brazil, Thailand, Poland, Romania, but this is the first year that the YCI program is introduced in Mexico where Fundación Infantia coordinates the program.
CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & SPA is one of three hotels in Mexico who has embraced the YCI program. Marriott’s philosophy has always been that of a aiding the local communities and countries where they are located, a proof of this is the recently won World Saver award from Conde Nast Traveler for Marriott’s culture of service and social responsibility.
