The Centro Universitario de la Costa (CUC), local branch of Jalisco's State University, will host a performance by the Bolshoi Theater’s Soloists and Sextet on May 4th at 7 pm at the university's Juan Luis Cifuentes Lemus auditorium in Ixtapa. Tenor Konstantin Tostobrov and soprano Oxana Gorchakovskaya will be the featured soloists in this unprecedented follow-up to the recent presentation of the St. Petersburg Ballet in Puerto Vallarta. The Russian embassy in Mexico is offering considerable support to organizers in order to introduce first-rate artists to Mexican audiences. Founded in 1776 by Prince Peter Urussov and Michael Maddox, the Bolshoi Theater is the national theater of Russia, the quintessence of the Russian musical tradition and the international center of the music culture.
