The local English-language AA group will host the Fourth Annual Sobriety Under the Sun convention at the Canto Del Sol Resort January 13 - 15, with recovering alcoholics coming from the US and Canada, and some of the tourists, snowbirds and expatriates living here expected to attend. An interesting piece of AA history is that the first group formed in Mexico back in the '40s was an English-speaking one started by expats. Today, some 20,000 Alcoholics Anonymous groups in this country are helping folks to enjoy life more by being sober.
