A Big Week for New Flights
For three days in a row this week, dignitaries, government officials, the press and those meeting passengers will welcome an inaugural flight to Puerto Vallarta: Delta's Atlanta-PV flight arrives at 8:45 pm December 15; the next day, December 16, Azteca's Mexico City-Guadalajara-PV flight arrives at 1:45 pm; and Frontier's Kansas City-PV flight touches down at 11:05 am December 17. What's really nice about the national flight operating four days a week is that it's inexpensive - about $70 USD each way - and very accommodating time wise. Departing from Vallarta at 2:55 pm, tourists can relax around the pool in the morning, check out at the usual time of noon or so, and then get to the airport at their leisure. The Atlanta flight will bring up to 150 visitors to our shores every day during our winter high season. And with 10,617 tourists from Kansas here in 2004, Frontier's direct non-stop flight three times a week should see that number rise dramatically.
