Thirty-eight charro teams from all over Mexico will compete in the 6th Puerto Vallarta Charro Championship, February 21-24 at the Lienzo Charro Miguel “Prieto” Ibarria. Each team must demonstrate their talent in ten challenging charro feats, being adjudicated by four different judges. La Charreria has been the biggest national Mexican sport since 1933. These championships are intended to preserve the tradition of this five century legacy.
“Every aspect in the championship infrastructure is carefully checked out, we expect a perfect inauguration ceremony. This is a memorable event for its competitors, given the quality of the horses, but principally by the kindness of Puerto Vallarta’s people,” commented Organizing Committee President Raúl Díaz Carrillo. This exciting competition will be held at Lienzo Charro Miguel “Prieto” Ibarria arena located on the road to Rastro-Mojoneras, in front of UNIVA entrance.
The highlight of this event that you may enjoy the most, is the planned maleconeada happening at 10:00 PM. on Friday, February 22. The Malecon will be the sight of a traditional parade and will include Banda Music and and charros riding their horses beautifully. Don't miss this special event!!
