Everything is set to go for the 2006 Vallarta Film Festival, which will take place November 29 to December 3. Cinemark will host the festival which will feature a total of 38 movies in five groupings: Enviromental Films, Latin American Films, New Images from Canada, American Independent Cinema, Hollywood Studio Films and Short Films from the Americas. Festival's Director Maria José Zorrilla and Festival's President Robert James Roessel gave a press conference to the media's members. Director of Tourist Promotion in Nayarit State Abel Rodriguez and ecologist Ricardo Diaz Borioli were also present. A short film contest make by university students is part of the festival activities. 108 short films are participating in four categories, the winners of every category will receive five thousand pesos and the Mantarraya award; and only one short film will obtain the principal prize, 30 thousand pesos and the Emilio Fernandez award.
