Salsa dancers rejoice! The first annual Salsa Festival”Fiesta Latina”, will be held at the old Sr. Frog’s location on Olas Altas, on May 4, 2008. Four famous and internationally recognized salsa orchestras will perform, including Adolescent’s Orquesta from Venezuela, Estrellas de Niche from Colombia and Chemaney and his Orchesta from Mexico. Also performing is the local dance group, Salsa Tribal.
This festival was the brainchild of two local businesswomen, Carolina Corales and Yulia Peña. Their common bond is a love of Latin music and together they formed a company called Fiesta Latina Producciones. Corales and Peña worked hard to plan this special salsa dance festival and are counting on the support of certain government officials, as well as talented representatives of Latin culture such as musicians, dancers, designers and artists, to bring it to fruition.
Corales and Peña envision this festival to become an annual event that will bring together the Latin communities in Vallarta and well as being a significant event to attract locals and tourists who share a love of salsa. Advance tickets are available for $250 pesos (regular admission), $300 pesos (VIP admission) and are $300 pesos at the door. For further information contact Carolina Corales or Yulia Peña on their cellular phones at (322) 173-7505, (322) 140-3508 or (322) 150-5423 or email rumbavallarta@gmail.com.
