Guadalajara-based sculptor Guillermo Gómez will be present at his upcoming exhibition opening, to take place at AnDante (in Gallería Dante) this Friday, February 24, from 6 - 10 pm. The second of nine brothers and sisters from a conservative Mexican family, Gómez is a prolific sculptor whose monuments adorn such cities as Guadalajara, La Paz, Villahermosa, and internationally in Lima, Peru.
The 12th annual San Pancho Music Festival will be opening in San Francisco (San Pancho), Nayarit, Friday February 24 at 5:00pm. The Festival will be held for three days, Friday through Sunday the 24 through the 26. Performances are free to the public and begin each afternoon at 5pm, typically ending prior to 12pm midnight.
Galería Contempo's Rodolfo Choperena recently announced an upcoming cocktail reception on Friday, February 24, from 6 to 10 pm, for contemporary artist Alfonso Peña, whose latest works will be on display beginning said date and for a limited time.
The Palm Cabaret and Bar will play host to the very popular cabaret artists Amy Armstrong and Freddy Allen, known around the world as “Amy and Freddy,” starting Monday, February 20 at 8pm and continuing Feb. 22, 24 and 26 at 8pm with one 10pm show on Feb. 25.

Acclaimed musician and producer Joe Hadlock will celebrate Valentine's Day this February 14th at San Pancho, Nayarit, in a romantic evening at Cielo Rojo's Bistro Organico. Seattle-based Hadlock is the owner of legendary Bear Creek Studio where he has collaborated with Eric Clapton, Lionel Richie, Soundgarden, Ginger Barker, recent Grammy winners Fleet Foxes, Brandie Carlile and the Strokes.
Renowned for hosting outrageously creative and inventive benefit events, Entreamigos will host their fourth annual Children’s Art Festival and Auction on Thursday, March 8 at their headquarters in San Pancho, Riviera Nayarit. The theme for this year’s event, Mexico’s iconic board game, Lotería.
The Boutique Theater Performing Arts Centre (a not-for-profit community theatre) presents a four-week run of The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas, directed by David Restivo, with musical direction by Bob Bruneau and choreography by Jacobo Martinez. Opening night is February 15.
Punta Sayulita has just announced the Mexican premiere of director Justin Krumb's environmental film "Minds in the Water," to take place at an outdoor screening right on the beach (beach chairs suggested) on Wednesday, February 29, 7 pm, next to the Punta Sayulita Beach House (by Don Pedro's). The director will be present to introduce the benefit screening and to answer questions afterwards.
On February 15 and March 15 from 11 am to 3 pm, a live auction will take place at Bahía del Sol in Nuevo Vallarta in order to raise funds for the Nuevo Vallarta turtle preserve. Paintings, sculpture, metal art and more will be on auction. This is an excellent opportunity to help raise funds to protect and endeared, endangered species.
