The Children of the Dump is a fabulous organization that supports children from families who earn little or no income and who live in five communities near our municipal dump. Only ten years ago, 70% of Vallarta's children did not even finish grade six and some of these children did not attend school and lived and worked with their family at the dump. Today Children of the Dump has programs to feed these children breakfast and hot meals, supports them in attending their local school and also provides after school programs in math, computers and English in their School of Champions. Additionally, Children of the Dump operates quality daycare centers to provide care for preschool children, so their parents (most of them single mothers) can go to work. The little sisters of Hoboken are forced to raise funds after a series of disasters leave them penniless on the streets of Vallarta. The four remaining sisters strut their stuff and put on a high energy show filled with dancing, singing and hilarity. The El Proyectos Cine Club will be showing Charlie Chaplin films on Wednesday evenings during the month of November 2008, at the Auditorio Centro Cultural Cuale. The program for each evening consists of three 25 minute films. Admission is free.
