Pan dulce or sweet bread is a delicious and inexpensive staple in Mexico.  There are countless varieties baked fresh daily and pan is available just about anywhere. Beside the obvious outlets such as panaderias (bakeries) and the bakery department in large grocery stores, there are some pharmacies in Vallarta that bake and sell fresh pan and even beach vendors that sell these addictive treats.  It doesn't get much easier than that!  Sit on a local beach enjoying a cool drink under the shade of your palapa and wait for the "pan man" to come by.
